It was exceptional on several levels. The castle-like courtyard, maybe a bit cheesy in other contexts but providing a God-sent oasis of calm in a hectic part of town. The size and amenities of the room, the fruit basket, incredibly confortable feather pillows, the staff, the owner, a great guy, sharing stories behind a mighty bar with some proper French cuisine. Finally, the central position, allowing short walking visits to most of Lome’s landmarks. Might go back to Lome just to stay again in this place.

This hotel is a gem in the central part of Lomé. Clean, safe, very nice, wonderful food, very nice people. The owner has done an excellent job creating this little oasis. One can come and completely relax and be away from the noise and activities of the busy city. And all this at a very fair price. We consider ourselves very blessed to have found this hotel for our week in Lomé.

The hotel is unusual in its decor. It has a mix of European and African touches with all sorts of nooks and crannies. I really liked it. I had a suite, which I didn\'t need, but enjoyed. Great wifi and AC. Very clean. The staff were tremendously helpful and very sweet, despite my poor French. Good breakfast. I liked having the bar in the building for a bite to eat and a drink at night. It is also in a very good location; easy to find and walking distance to everything.My only criticisms would be the rock hard mattress in my room (and i am not fussy about these things). I slept instead on the sofa. Also the shower in my room did not work. A small trickle of water came out of the faucet, but it was not enough to power the shower nozzle. Neither of these things bothered me enough to complain. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it.

This is why it’s great staying at small, non-chain local hotels. This hotel is run with pride and they treat guests like friends. Oh sure, the rooms may be a bit dated, but they’re clean and comfortable. This is certainly one of more unique hotels I’ve stayed at: the décor is not like anything you’ve seen before! The restaurant served great food, and the breakfast was hearty, and the bar served snacks and was a very cozy place to hang out in the evenings. Thanks again to the staff for looking out for me and providing a very positive experience in Lome.

(+) I would highly recommend to stay in the residence Hôtelière Océane. First of all, I wanted to have a visa to be ready before coming to Togo. In order to do so, the Togolese consulate requested an official confirmation from a hotel, where I stay that I actually reserved something in Togo. I received the requested confirmation within a few days. I was also offered an airport pick up for free but traveled by land, therefore declined it. The hotel is located more or less in the city center. It is in the walking distance to all more or less interesting sights in Lomé. I liked the interior design of the hotel. It is pretty unusual. You can get to the rooftop and see the capital from above. If you like Belgian beers, you can order a few types in the restaurant. The price is similar to European hotels. My room 60 had even a safe box, which is usually not available in the African mid-range hotels. Very nice soap but would be great to have a shampoo. You can pay vith a Visa credit card or in cash (euro or CFA).(-) The hotel has a restaurant but the prices for dishes are a bit steep. The breakfast is for free but can be improved. You can get an omelette, 2 local croissants, a baguette and butter and jam. Coffee was unfortunately instant.

The rooms in the Oceane are all quite unique and often quirky (i.e. on two levels, or odd shapes) but this adds to the charm of the hotel. The rooms are clean and the beds relatively comfortable. The air conditioning, TV and WiFi work. The breakfast consists of fresh croissants, coffee, orange juice and bread. There is a great bar and restaurant in the hotel with cold beer and a big screen to show sport and other events. The patron is very genial and the staff always friendly and helpful. Many flights to Lome arrive at odd hours and so check-in and out can be at odd times. Transfer from the airport can be arranged.

Stayed in this hotel for a business trip from 27th June - 1st July 2016. The hotel is clean, has a beautiful patio and nice rooms, excellent cuisine. The owner and the staff are very friendly and provide a familiar atmosphere. For a next visit to Lomé I would book this hotel again.

They met us with a friendly driver at the airport, who we ended up hiring the next two days to take us around town. He was extremely helpful, and made our whole trip much easier. Meals at the hotel were great, staff were super friendly and chatty. The AC and WiFi at the property were excellent by Togo standards. Half the price of the larger hotels in town and twice the quality. I\'ve stayed other places, but from now on this is the only place I\'ll stay in the future!

During my 2nd stay, I was given the Duplex room I\'d originally reserved. I still had a 2-storey room, but the decoration was completely different (see pictures). I guess every room is unique. I also had both a downstairs & an upstairs bathroom, which was more convenient.The water pressure was better in the Duplex Room. The Internet connection seemed to work a little better as well.Still loved the free laundry :)

Charming architecture, central location, clean rooms, fast wifi, friendly service. This is hard to find in Lome at even twice the price. I did have a small problem locking my door which was slightly \"off center\". The breakfast is somewhat simple, but satisfying: they do make omelettes to order, and you can get a croissant with jam and butter and fresh squeezed ornage juice. There are also a few good options for meals nearby, \"Rare Pearl\" and \"2HN\" for cheap but good local food and cold bear.There are also several clubs and bars nearby if you\'re into that.

During my 1st stay, I received an update to a Grand Standing room. The room decoration was charming, and the 2-storey setup was original (see pictures).Both the downstairs living room & the upstairs bedroom featured AC, TV and a desk area. Funnily enough, the toilet was downstairs, while the upstairs bathroom lacked a toilet. For any nighttime toilet visit, that meant a trip down & back up the stairs.The Internet connection (both ADSL & WiFi) was intermittent & slow. The water pressure was low, both in the shower & the bathroom sink.The hotel bar closes at midnight. From that time, reception is closed & the front door is locked. Hotel guests are given a key, so they can let themselves in & out at any time.Breakfast is not included. However, the room rate does include a service I value much higher: free laundry! Traveling from Ghana through Togo to Benin & all the way back, all my laundry was done for free on my 2 stays at this hotel.I made my reservation via e-mail. Philippe, the owner, responded promptly.When dealing with taxi drivers, the bar (Mini Brasserie) is better known than the hotel.

The hotel is situate in a relatively busy and central part of Lome, across the road from a number of banks and a large pharmacy. They neighbourhood is a bit dusty and can smell a bit funky in the heat (true for most of Lome) but the hotel itself is clean and the airconditioning really helps.The building itself looks odd but funny, the interior being designed like a medieval French castle. There is a very ok bar downstair serving French snaks and warm dishes and breakfast is also good. My room was good value for money at CFA 38,000/night: the bed was comfortable, there was a small fridge and the airconditioning worked well. The interior also looked nice and well kept.Outside the hotel there are a number of bars that seem to function mainly as pick-up joints but the clientele seems harmeless and the area seems safe to walk around in compared to may other cities in Africa.

Residence Hoteliere Oceane proved me right for trusting Tripadvisor when choosing a place to stay for a business trip to Lome. Undoubtedly one of the best spots we\'ve stayed when travelling in Sub-Saharan Africa. Location is quite central, which is rather convenient. Room was nice, spacious and clean, and things like internet access worked well. Food was also great and quite varied, both in the bar and in the restaurant. But the best is the family-like ambience that Phillipe and the rest of the team are able to create there. Kudos to all of them for running such a nice place. Highly recommended - will definitely be our home again when next over in Lome.
